A fabulous, laid-back temperament, lovely movement and an incredible pedigree make “Banner” the total package! Banner is a 5 year old, 15.3 hand OTTB gelding who retired totally sound from a very short and unremarkable racing career.
(Race data available here.)

He has some of the best bloodlines that Thoroughbred breeding has to offer, including Unbridled’s Song, Secretariat, Mr. Prospector, Native Dancer and Bold Ruler.
(Five generation pedigree available here.)

Banner is clean legged, has great feet, no vices and is a pleasure to have in the barn. He gets along with everyone in turnout, is quiet in a stall, loads easily (I load him by myself), and stands for mounting. Banner is still green but has excellent natural balance, picks up correct leads, and is not spooky, hot or touchy. He has flat-kneed, sweeping gaits and was totally unfazed by his introduction to jumping.

Banner is showing exceptional potential as a field hunter. He has hunted about 15 times, primarily with the Rockbridge Hunt. He is wonderful around hounds, happy to stay in the back, stands at checks, and goes in a snaffle. Banner crosses water, bridges, ditches, and is handy and balanced on steep, trappy trails and less-than-perfect footing. He is a joy to ride on the trail and will lead or follow.

Banner competed in a local horse show, was very grown-up in the warm-up ring, and won second place in a big flat class.

Banner is up-to-date on vaccines, has a current coggins, and a recent dental. He is safe enough for an amateur or junior to bring along, moves well enough to compete in the hunters and brave enough to event–great opportunity for a rider looking for a sweet, quiet and versatile partner!
