Dixon DS, 2020

Are you looking for a young horse who has the potential to take you down centerline or give you 8 perfect distances even when the judge’s tent is blowing away in the wind? If so, Dixon is your man!

Dixon is a registered 2019 Westfalen gelding by Debonair MF out of SF Dixie Chick. He was the site champion colt of his inspection, receiving 8.0 or better on all scores, including an 8.5 for type.

Dixon was purpose-bred for dressage, but his gaits and good looks could land him in the hunter ring, too! The versatility in his pedigree comes from Don Principe, a stallion who sired multiple FEI horses AND was in the top 10 in the hunter breeding rankings.

On the dam side, Dixon carries the blood of Der Graf and the legendary Donnerhall who produced intelligent, good-moving horses with excellent rideability

Dixon is handled daily and is owned by his breeder. Using target training, he has been taught to accept balloons, tarps, flags, umbrellas, and other potentially scary objects. He even stands calmly in make-shift wind tunnels that incorporate these same elements.

And he is feline-approved! Take a peek at the cute video below.

Dixon stands still to have his feet picked up and get bathed, whether he’s cross-tied or standing loose. Dixon gets along well with other horses and is currently turned out in a mixed herd. He is expected to mature at 15:3 to 16hh, so will be a great size for a smaller adult rider.

Since Dixon is still young, he will do best in a home where he will be outside 24/7 with shelter, although he currently comes into a stall for periods of time during the day or evening. His ideal situation is a home with a dedicated amateur rider or professional who will take the time to continue his training and help develop him to his full potential.

Dixon is located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Serious inquiries only, please.
