Jockey Club name “A Used Gun” is a 16.1, 10 year old OTTB gelding with a kind eye, uphill build and pleasant temperament. “Gunner” raced 8 times and then used as a pony horse on the track for several years. He was let down before being professionally re-started and is very willing, picks up both leads, is not spooky, hacks out alone and has been started over cross rails.

He has competed twice and was easy to ride and manage at his first combined training competition. For his second outing he went to a dressage show and got a 7.5 on gaits! Gunner seemed to enjoy himself on his first (big, fairly chaotic) trail ride and showed excellent manners on the trail. He is a nice mover, easy to load and haul, and has schooled off the farm several times.

Gunner is sound with no maintenance and has no previous injuries or episodes of colic that I know of. He is quiet in a stall, currently turned out at night, and is in good weight. He is a mild cribber, controlled with a collar in a stall and doesn’t need the collar when he’s turned out. Gunner is up to date on vaccines, has a current coggins, a recent dental and chiropractic adjustment and is ready to go! Really nice guy who could go in any direction–he would make a lovely show hunter, is brave enough to event, moves well enough for dressage and will probably be great in the hunt field. Grab him now, as his price will increase with further training and experience.
