We are pleased to introduce “Jackson,” a 2011, 16.3 OTTB gelding, Jockey Club name “Stone Jak.” Jackson is an excellent mover and would excel in the hunters, but could easily adapt to any English discipline. He is a push ride. Like many off the track thoroughbreds, he is better schooled to the left, but has been making great progress to the right. Jackson is currently schooling over fences and putting together small courses. While working on bending in each direction he is showing a steady understanding of the aids. He is not spooky, easily agitated, or hot, happily tolerates rider errors, and is often ridden with a spur or stick. Jackson is quiet enough for an advanced beginner who is under the supervision of a trainer or he would excel in a program where a stronger rider can take advantage of his talents–just a really lovely mind in this guy. He has been out on trail quiet a bit and really seems to enjoy that aspect as well. He has been hound walking and we intend to hunt him this season if he is here long enough. He has excellent feet, good bones, no known health issue, no maintenance, and a fairly easy keeper. He is happy to live in or out and currently lives in a big group of geldings. Jackson is a quick learner, and his price will increase with training and show miles, so grab this big, flashy hunk quick.
