“Seventh Chapter” is a 5 year old, 16.1 hand OTTB gelding who retired sound from racing in the early spring of 2017. He lived at a training barn located on the historic Madison estate by the Montpelier turf racetrack. His trainer is a very kind and knowledgeable guy who turned his racehorses out (not all of them do), so Seven was not stall-kept for years and had a lovely life during his years on the track.

Seven’s trainer described him as “very pleasant to be around” and that has turned out to be completely true. Seven is a stoic, thoughtful guy, who is remarkably quiet under saddle, in the barn and in the field. He is lovely to live with, gets along with everyone, has no vices and fabulous ground manners. Seven is w/t/c under saddle, has been started over fences and done some cross-country jumping, group lessons, schooled off the farm and been on trail rides. He does not need much contact, half-halting or rebalancing, and is perfectly happy to do all three gaits on the buckle. Seven is not spooky and has not offered any naughty behavior at all. He has a great foot on him, no history of colic or injury, and is clean-legged except for a split on his left front. Seven stands patiently for the vet and farrier, loads and ties. He is a really special guy who will make his new partner very happy!
